Ode on a Grecian Urn (for Baritone Voice and Piano)

Ode on a Grecian Urn is a setting of John Keats' famous poem of the same name. The poet describes the decoration around a Grecian urn, lamenting that the figures can never achieve what they represent, being frozen in time. A hymn-like opening in the key of Db reverently sets the scene, after which the scenes are described in turn through various musical motifs. Compass is A2 to F4 (with ossias an octave lower for each F4 note). The piece is about 9 mins. in duration.
